Video Modeling
Brief Description: The use of a video recording of an appropriate behavior (such as greeting a friend, walking nicely down the hall, or sitting appropriately during circle time in school), in order to teach the behavior to a student. The person in the video can be the student him/herself, a peer, or an adult.

Research Status from Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT): Well-established.

Research Status from the National Standards Report: “Modeling” (which includes video modeling) is considered an established intervention for individuals with autism, Asperger’s, and PDD-NOS from ages 3 – 18 years.
